Our learners come from a diverse group and although many of them have both English and Afrikaans parents, the language of instruction is English only (of which they are required to have a reasonable command.)

Yes. We endeavour to provide a safe and healthy environment for all. A detailed copy of this policy is available at school for your perusal. The policy covers issues such as: lift club arrangements for the learners, emergency procedures, HIV policy, indemnity forms, infectious diseases and basic rules and regulations.

Yes. This takes the form of interviews and written reports. Learners are assessed continuously according to the requirements for Pre-Grade R and Grade R as prescribed in the CAPS Curriculum.

Fun time at school! During the winter terms, our learners are required to have a Dry-Mac or hooded raincoat and a pair of Wellington boots. These are worn outdoors. When indoors, they wear a pair of warm slippers, which live at school. All learners must have a spare bag of clothing at school.

Yes! Staff members are not allowed to give any medication to learners at all unless the parents have given their permission. Children who are ill are expected to stay at home. All medication, which is sent to school, must be in a sealed and clearly marked container, together with written instructions.

Yes! Morning care is provided from 07h15 – 08h00 every morning (free of charge).
Aftercare is available from 13h00 – 17h30. Parents must provide a separate packed lunch. Juice and Fruit is served during the afternoon. Our Aftercare is very well supervised.
Aftercare fees: There are two options from which to choose. Either 15h00 or 17h30. Fees are payable in advance.

HAIR: Must be clean and neat. Long hair must be tied up, please. We do regular checks for head lice and expect any cases to be treated a.s.a.p. at home. CLOTHING: Needs to be neat but comfortable. No long skirts, high heels or clothing which hampers natural movement or play must be worn. Please do not send them in their Sunday best! FOOTWEAR: Barefoot in summer or sandals which strap on and allow them to move and climb easily. Comfortable walking shoes for outings. Wellington boots are compulsory for winter.

We make use of a time-out system and children are encouraged and assisted in finding alternative methods to deal with issues causing them anger and frustration. Meaningful conversations are important and parents are always informed.

Unfortunately, not. Grade R learners who are deemed ready to be promoted to Grade 1 attend local schools. Parents are responsible for enrolling their children into a Primary School. Once they have been away for a month, we invite them back for a Reunion Hotdog Party. They arrive in uniform and bring their first workbook with them to show us just how clever they are. THEN we wave them goodbye, and they are usually very happy to rush back to big school. Oldies are welcome to visit us at any time!
